The Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company is 1 of 8, 100% volunteer fire companies in Caroline County, Maryland on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Greensboro V.F.C. provides Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services to the citizens of "The City" of Greensboro and surrounding areas close to "The City". Greensboro V.F.C. also has mutual aid agreements with all other towns in Caroline County, and surrounding counties such as Talbot
and Queen Anne's County Maryland, as well as Kent County Delaware. |

Units Go To Harrington For Silo Fire
June 20, 2009
At 1846 hours E-603 and Tanker 606 were dispatched to assist Harrington on a silo fire at 1201 Bullock Rd. Engine 603 arrived and laid approximately 800 foot of 4 inch supply line. The crew from the Engine was assigned to supply Tower 50. Command then requested Brush 602 to be dispatched to establish a draft site at a pond located on the farm. Units operated on scene for approximately 5 hours and 10 minutes before clearing at 2356. Thanks to Ridgely for standing by.

House Fire On Oakland Road
June 18, 2009
At 2206 hours units were dispatched for a house fire at 15330 Oakland Rd in the 4-9 box. Chief 4 went O/L and reported fire showing on the "Charlie" side. Officer 417(Hayes) established "Oakland Road Command." E-603's crew assisted with fire attack while the crew from E-604 was assigned RIT. After a aggressive fire attack crews went to work doing extensive overhaul. Crews operated for approximately 3 and a half hours before clearing. Thanks to Harrington for standing by.

Working Vehicle Fire
May 6, 2009
At 19:00 hours units were alerted for a vehicle fire on River Road in the area of Harrington Lane. Officer 617(Harvey) arrived on location with a single vehicle fully involved. Engine 603 and Engine 604 both made the response. Officer 617(Harvey) had River Road command. Both crews from Engine 603 and Engine 604 were assigned fire attack and quickly knocked the fire down. All units operated for an hour before placing the situation under control and returning.

Brush and Engine Assist In Denton
April 27, 2009
At 14:30 hours units were alerted to assist Denton on a woods fire in the area of Mitchell Road and Shore Highway. Both the Engine and Brush Truck responded to the scene. E304 arrived on location to find a large area in the woods on fire. Officer 319(Higgs) had Mitchell Road command. Crews from both pieces assisted Denton VFD with extinguishment of the fire. Crews operated for 2 hours before returning.

Early Morning House Fire
April 27, 2009
At 07:37 hours units were dispatched to 538 Vaughn Ave. for a reported house fire. Engine 603 and Engine 604 responded on the call. Officer 616(Bambary) went on location with smoke showing and had Vaughn Ave. command. After further investigation crews determined that it was a small kitchen fire and command advised all units to slow ther response but continue in to the scene. Crews operated for about an hour before clearing the scene.

Engine Goes To Milford For Multi-alarm Fire
April 14, 2009
At 0658 hours Engine 604 was dispatched to transfer to Kent County Delaware Station 52(Houston) while their units were operating at a multi alarm hotel fire in Milford. Shortly after the engine went off the air at Houston VFC they were advised by Kent Center to make a response to the scene. Engine 604 was assigned to the water supply group and assisted by shuttling water to the fire scene. Engine 604 returned to quarters around 1045 hours.
