Rescue 600 Attends Public Safety Awareness Day In Ridgely

This afternoon Rescue 600 attended the Public Safety Awareness Day hosted By Ridgely VFC. The Rescue was on display along with units from Ridgely and Denton VFC. The crew from the rescue performed a vehicle extrication demonstration. We would like to thank the members of Ridgely VFC for inviting us to participate.

Trailer Fire In Marydel
October 15, 2007
At 1408 hours E-603 was dispatched to 18240 Lepore Road to assist with a trailer fire. Units from Marydel arrived and reported a working fire. E-603 arrived and was assigned to assist with ventilation. The engine operated for approximately 36 minutes before clearing at 1444 hours.

Fire Prevention At Greensboro Elementary School
October 18, 2007
Today students from Greensboro Elementary School were given a short ride on the engine to the station for fire prevention day. When students arrived at the station they were given a tour of the apparatus. After the tour the students were given fire safety tips. Students were then shown a firefighter in full gear and taught not to be afraid of the firefighter. We would to thank the members of Goldsboro VFC for assisting us. House Fire In Denton
October 20, 2007
At 0820 hours units were dispatched to 304 Sharp Road in Denton for a house fire. Officer 315 arrived and reported smoke showing. Officer 315( Makovsky) established "Sharp Road Command." The crew from E-304 quickly went to work finding a small fire in the cross space. While the crew from E-401 took division 1. E-603 was assigned to RIT. Command quickly placed the situation under control holding units that were on scene. E-604 was assigned to transfer to Station 300 to fill their quarters. Units operated for approximately 45 minutes before clearing at 0907 hours.

October 21, 2007
At 1329 hours Rescue 600 was dispatched to the intersection of Ridgely Road and River Road to assist Station 400 with a MVC. E-401 went O/L and reported a 2 vehicle MVC. Officer 415(Hayes) established "Ridgely Road Command." Command then confirmed entrapment in 1 vehicle and Rescue 600 was assigned to do a door poop upon their arrival. The crew from the rescue arrived and went to work on the extrication. PM692 transported 1 patient to a local hospital while A-492 obtained refusals from the other victims. Units operated for approximately 30 minutes before clearing at 1359.

October 31, 2007
Tonight about 10 members gathered at the firehouse to greet trick or treaters. Members gave out candy to all the little ghosts and goblins in "The City" and even had a visit from some Superheros such as Spiderman, Superman and some future Fire Fighters.
