Engine And Chief On Chimney Fire In Denton

December 3, 2007

At 1300 hours units were dispatched to 8931 Andersontown Road for a chimney fire. Chief 6 arrived and reported nothing apparent. Officer 616(Bambary) established "Andersontown Road Command" E-304 and E-603 were assigned to the investigation division while Tower 310 took the roof division. After investigation crews cleaned out the chimney and checked for extension. Units operated for approximately 1 hour before clearing at 1405 hours.

Greensboro Membership Mourns a Tremendous Loss

December 28, 2007

The Officers and members of the Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company regret to announce the untimely passing of President and Past Chief Curtis L. Harvey on Friday December 28, 2007.

A member for over 27 years, Curtis was a Life Member, Past Chief and the current President. This was in addition to being first and foremost a devoted husband to his loving and supportive wife Karen, loving father to his precious daughter Kayla, loyal son to Al and Grace, big brother and friend to Jimmy and good friend to those fortunate enough to call him one.

Building Fire At Snappy's

December 28, 2007

At 1241 hours units were dispatched to 101 E Sunset Snappy's Hair Design  for a building fire. As units went responding Communications advised Greensboro PD was O/L reporting smoke showing. E-603 arrived and confirmed the report given by the police. Officer 618(Biddle) established "Snappy's Command" The Crew from the engine found a small fire in the wall with extension to the upstairs. Units operated for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes before clearing at 1351 hours.
