Engine and Tanker Assist on 3 Alarm House Fire

At 1534 hours E-603 and Tanker 606 were alerted as Mutual Aid to Talbout County Box 5-4 (Cordova) at 9056 Highbanks Terrace. Upon arrival Cordova had a well involved 2 story dwelling. E-603's crew was assigned Division 2 interior attack. Tanker 606 staged on the hard surface and was used as a nurse tanker to help with water supply. Units cleared at 2100 hours.

Command Unit Placed In Service

Dec. 12, 2006

At 1820 hours GVFC placed a 2006 Ford Expedition Command Unit in service. This unit is equipped with a Command Center, AED, and SCBA. This unit is designated as Chief 6.

MVC With Rollover On Cedar Lane

Dec. 13, 2006

At 1104 hours "The City" along with PM692 (CCEMS) were dispatched to Cedar Lane near Hill Road for a MVC with rollover. Chief 6 went O/L and reported 1 vehicle off the road way. Officer 615 (House) established "Cedar Lane Command" Rescue 600 was assigned to assist PM692 with pt. care and to secure the vehicle while E-604 staged prior to the scene for traffic control. PM692 transported 1 pt. and units cleared the call at 1124 hours.   ** This was the first call for Chief 6**

Combine Fire On Hill Rd

Dec. 21, 2006

At 1511 hours E-604, B 602, Tanker 606, and Chief 6 were dispatched to the area od 25531 Hill Road for a combine fire. Chief 6 went O/L and reported a working fire. Officer 615 (House) established "Hill Road Command." E 604 and B 602 were assigned to fire attack while Tanker 606 staged. Units operated for approx. 45 minutes before clearing the call at 1549 hours

MVC With Ejection On Greensboro Road

Dec. 24, 2006

At 0803 hours E-603, Rescue 600, and PM791 (CCEMS) were dispatched to the area of 12862 Greensboro Road for a MVC reported with ejection.  Chief 6 went O/L and confirmed 1 vehicle overturned with ejection. Officer 615 (House) established "Greensboro Road Command." Rescue 600 was assigned to pt. care while E-603 was assigned to establish the landing zone. 1 pt. was transported to the Trauma Center by Maryland State Police Trooper 6. Units operated approx. 40 minutes before clearing the call at 0844 hours.
