Building Fire In The 6-2

November 18, 2007

At 1046 hours units were dispatched to 26543 Whitleysburg Road for a building fire. Chief 6 went O/L and reported a small fire on the "Alpha" side of a manure shed. Officer 624(Harvey) established "Whitleysburg Road Command." Command quickly reduce the box holding 600 units and E-703. Command then requested that E-401 to stand by at our quarters. Units operated for approximatley 1 hour 15 minutes before clearing at 1200 hours.

Garage Fire In Denton

November 18, 2007

At 1752 hours units were dispatched to 1013 Gay Street in Denton for a building fire. E-304 went O/L reporting smoke showing. Officer 322(Higgs) established "Gay Street Command." E-304 put a quick knock on the fire and had E-401 assist with overhaul. E-603 remained in staging for approximatley 25 minutes before clearing at 1828 hours.

Lieutenant Gowen Gets A Visit From The Stork

November 25, 2007

Today Lieutenant Gowen and his wife Heather had a visit from the stork. Rylee Elizabeth Gowen was born at 0929 hours, weighing 7 lbs. 15 oz.and 21 inches. Mother and baby are reported to be doing well and are expected home later this week. Congratulations!!!!

   

3 Alarm Fire In Centreville

November 29, 2007

At 1740 hours units were dispatched to 255 Burton Air Drive in Centreville to assist with a 3 alarm house fire. Units arrived at the staging area and command released all units in staging with the exception of tankers. Tanker 606 remained on scene for approximately 3 hours 20 minutes assisting with water supply before clearing at 2104 hours.   Pictures can be seen at CHVFD5.COM

Engine And Rescue On Vehicle Fire With Exposure In Goldsboro

November 30, 2007

At 1917 hours units were dispatched to 25650 Castle Hall Road for a vehicle fire with exposure to a residence. E-703 went O/L and reported a RV well involved with exposure to a house. Officer 720(Reed) established " Castle Hall Road Command" Engine 603 arrived and assisted with overhaul to the exposure. Units operated for approximately 1 and a half hours before clearing at 2051 hours. A additional crew remained in quarters staffing the second engine.
