Busy Day for Greensboro Volunteers

The day began early with a dispatch at 00:53 hours for wires arching. Greensboro PD went on location reporting a small brush fire off the roadway. Brush 602 and Engine 603 went responding. Brush 602 arrived on location confirming Greensboro PD's report and 621 established 'Greensboro Rd Command'. Crew member from both units worked to contain and extinguish the fire for approximately 20 minutes.

At 04:33 hours station 600 was alerted for a service call at 100 Kitteridge Ct. Engine 603 responded with 3. On arrival found a faulty smoke detector. Personnel operated for approximately 30 minutes before clearing the scene.

The day continued with a dispatch at 12:28 hours with a dispatch to 14055 Cedar Ln. for a Natural Cover box. Brush 602 responded w/2, Engine 604 4 w/ Biddle, Engine 603 3 w/ Bambary. Brush 602 arrived on location with approximately a one acre field fire. Officer 618 established "Cedar Lane Command". Units went to work on containment and extinguishments, operating for approximately two hours before clearing the scene.
