House Fire On Greensboro Road

January 06, 2008

At 1225 hours units were dispatched to 10891 Greensboro Road for a house fire. PM 791 went O/L and reported smoke showing from side charlie.  Chief 3 arrived and confirmed Pm791's report. Officer 317(Girvens) established "Greensboro Road Command" E-304 arrived an stretched a line into the front door and went to work putting a quick knock on the fire. E-603 arrived and was assigned pull back a back up line and check for extension. Thanks to the quick work of E-304's crew the fire was held to 2 rooms and command place the box under control. Units operated for approximately 1 hour before clearing at 1325 hours.

House Fire On Ruritan Road

January 18, 2008

At 2204 hours units were dispatched to 27980 Ruritan Road in Denton for a house fire. Within a minute E-603 was on the street and was advised by communications that the Sheriff's department was O/L reporting smoke showing. E-603 arrived first and reported a single story structure with heavy smoke showing from the eves. The crew from the engine passed command and assumed fire attack. Within a minute E-304 went O/L and assumed search and rescue while Officer 316(Lister) established "Ruritan Road Command" The fire attack group quickly advised the fire was knocked and was held to room and contents with no extension. Command placed the situation under control holding units from 300 and 600. Units operated for approximately 1 hour and 20 min before clearing the call at 2323 hours. Barn Fire On Melville Road

January 19, 2007

At 2008 hours units were dispatched to 17034 Melville Road for a reported house fire. Officer 56-15 went O/L and reported a barn fully involved with exposure problems. Officer 56-15(Madden) established "Melville Road Command." The crews from E-703 arrived and quickly went to work protecting the exposure and putting a knock on the fire. E-603 and E-604 were assigned to assist the crew from E-703 with fire attack while the tanker was assigned to water supply. Units operated for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes before clearing at 2127 hours. Thanks to Farmington VFC for standing by.

Reported House Fire In The 4-1

January 26, 2008

At 2212 hours units were dispatched to 209 Central Avenue in Ridgely for a reported house fire. Chief 4 went O/L and reported nothing showing. Officer 415(Utz) established  "Central Avenue Command." Command quickly upgraded to smoke showing. Engine 401 arrived and secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant and stretched a line in the front door. Engine-603 and E-85 were assigned to assist with ventilation. The fire attack crew found a small fire in a couch on the second floor with no extension. units operated for approximately 30 minutes before clearing at 2242 hours.

Working Fire In The 6-1

January 26, 2008

At 2247 hours units were dispatched to 108 W. Sunset Avenue for a working house fire. E-603 already on the air returning from the call in the 4-1 went O/L within a minute and reported a 2 story wood frame structure heavy smoke showing from the second floor. When Chief 6 arrived Officer 615 established "Sunset Avenue Command." The crew from E-85 did a primary and secondary search with negative results, while the crew from E-401 threw ground ladders and E-304 was assigned to RIT. Due to a aggressive fire attack by the crew from E-603 the fire was held to room of origin with minor extension to the attic. Units operated for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes before clearing at 0120 hours. Thanks to Harrington VFC E-505 for standing by.
